Today, October 1st 2015, a protocol to the UPC Agreement has been signed by representatives of member states in the margins on the Competitiveness Council meeting. This protocol will allow some parts of the UPC Agreement to be applied early.
At its meeting on 3 September 2015 the Preparatory Committee agreed the draft proposal for the Rules on the European Patent Litigation Certificate and other appropriate qualifications.
At the meeting, which was held at the Netherlands permanent representation to the EU, the Committee agreed the Rules for the European Patent Litigation Certificate. The Rules will be published shortly on this website.
The 10th meeting of the Preparatory Committee was held at the Hungarian Permanent Representation to the European Union at the 10th of July.
On the 5th of May the Preparatory Committee held its 9th meeting. It was hosted by Luxembourg in the premises of its permanent representation to the European Union. The meeting opened with the good news from the European Court of Justice's judgements on the EU´s patent regulations.
On the 8 May the Preparatory Committee launched a public consultation on the fee structure for the Court.
The Court of Justice further boosts the implementation process by dismissing Spain's actions against the EU regulations on the unitary patent protection. The judgments are available.
This week the UK Intellectual Property Office published the tender notice on the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) inviting expressions of interest from suppliers.
The Advocate General of the Court of Justice gives a boost to the implementation process by claiming that Spanish actions against the EU Regulations on the unitary patent protection must be dismissed.
