Professional Experience in Intellectual PropertyAfter first experiences in public research laboratories, Bertrand Cochet joined the European Patent Office in 1998, where he worked until 2008. As a European patent examiner who regularly chaired Examining Divisions, he was in charge of the examination of numerous European patent applications and took part in opposition proceedings, in the field of Telecommunications.He then joined a major French Intellectual Property law firm, where he qualified and acted as a French and European patent attorney specialized in the fields of Electricity, Electronics and Telecommunications. In that position, he represented very diverse clients in examination, opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office.Since 2011, he has been working as a European patent attorney in the Intellectual Property department of a multinational telecommunications service provider.
