Presidium

The Presidium is composed of the President of the Court of Appeal, who acts as chairperson, the President of the Court of First Instance, two judges of the Court of Appeal, three judges of the Court of First Instance, and the Registrar as a non-voting member. The Presidium makes decisions on the basis of a majority vote.

The Presidium is responsible for the management of the Court, in particular for

  • Drawing up proposals for amendments of the Rules of Procedure and the Financial Regulations of the Court,
  • Laying down the Rules governing the Registry,
  • Preparing the annual budget, annual accounts, and annual reports and submitting these to the Budget Committee,
  • Establishing guidelines for the training program and supervising their implementation,
  • Taking staff decisions regarding the Registrar and Deputy-Registrar.
