Professional Experience in Intellectual Property She joined the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (Deutsches Patent- und Markenamt) in 2004, where she worked as a patent examiner and group leader. In 2013, she was appointed as a technical judge at the Federal Patent Court, Germany (Bundespatentgericht), where she worked as a member of a technical board of appeal, a nullity board and a board of appeal for utility models. From 2019 to April 2025 she was seconded to the German Patent and Trade Mark Office and worked as head of a patent division. In April 2025 she was appointed Presiding Judge at the Federal Patent Court; since then, she has chaired the 14th Senate, a technical board of appeal. Education Dörte Otten-Dünnweber studied physics at the Universities of Bonn, Münster and Munich (Germany).
