European Patent Litigation Certificate – Revised

Proposal

It is proposed to amend the Draft Rules on the European Patent Litigation Certificate and other appropriate qualifications pursuant to Article 48(2) of the Agreement on a Unified Patent Court (hereafter Draft EPLC Rules). Proposed is to add the certificate of the final exam of the ‘Corso di Proprietà Industriale – Brevetti’ of the Politecnico di Milano in the list of courses in Rule 12(a) of the Draft EPLC Rules.

Reason

The Politecnico recently gave more and detailed information on the curriculum of the course. The course comprises 46 modules of 3 hours each for a total of 138 hours. Many modules are specifically on litigation. A very important new element for the EPLC Drafting Team was the introduction of an exam in the present edition 2015-2016, Only the students having attended the complete course will be admitted to the exam. The exam will be also available for students of previous editions on request. More information on the course is available here.

Given this new information of the Politecnico, the EPLC Drafting Team has proposed to add the certificate of the course exam to the list of courses in Rule 12(a) of the Draft EPLC Rules.
