On January 26th, 2024, the Headquarters Agreement between Italy and the Unified Patent Court was signed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Rome. The signatories were President Klaus Grabinski for the UPC and Director-General for Europe Nicola Verola for Italy. The Headquarters Agreement is meant to provide the best legal and practical conditions for the functioning of the UPC offices located in Italy – the Local Division that is already operational in Milan, and the forthcoming section of the Central Division which will be fully operational next June.
